4 injured in barn collapse

HAGERSTOWN, Ind. — Emergency responders rushed to the scene of a barn collapse Sunday afternoon where as many as 50 people were reportedly inside.

A call at 3:37 p.m. requested help at 7425 Baker Road in Hagerstown.

Those arriving on the scene were Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Hagerstown Police Department, Hagerstown Fire Department, Culberson Ambulance Service and Reid Health Emergency Room Response.

Wayne County Sheriff Jeff Cappa said responders located a 140-foot-by-60-foot hoop barn that had collapsed.

Four people were found with minor injuries, Cappa said. Three of them were transported to Reid Health in Richmond by Culberson for treatment.

Cappa said the incident remains under investigation.
