A cash reward has been announced for information that leads to the capture of two Fayette County inmates who escaped late Friday night from the Connersville jail.

When jail staff locked inmates in their cells for the evening and performed their routine head count, they realized two inmates were missing.

Officers checked their cell and noticed a hole in both the interior and exterior walls. Officers and police dogs were sent to the scene to find the inmates, but were unsuccessful.

Staff reviewed the camera system and saw inmates Chadwick R. Heath and Michael D. Roberts escaping through a hole about 11:30 p.m., a press release said.

Officials are now following up on leads in regards to Heath and Roberts' location.

Through the help of Fayette County Prosecutor Bette Jones and her office, the sheriff's department on Saturday afternoon announced a cash reward of $1,000 per inmate for any information that would lead to their apprehension. The sheriff's department said the information must be legitimate and aid in the direct apprehension of these individuals.

Heath has been charged with four counts of dealing in a narcotic drug (Level 4 felony), maintaining a common nuisance (Level 6 felony) and visiting a common nuisance (A misdemeanor).

Roberts has been charged with burglary (B felony) and two counts of theft (D felony).

Anyone with tips can call the Fayette County Sheriff's Department at (765) 825-1110 ext. 602, Fayette County Dispatch at (765) 825-2111 or send an instant message on the department's Facebook page at facebook.com/fcsdindiana.

The department says if anyone comes in contact with or sees these suspects they should use caution and notify law enforcement immediately by calling 911.
