A car was stolen Sunday morning at Richmond's north-side Shell station.

Richmond Police Department's Lt. Curt Leverton said police believe the car theft is unrelated to a reported armed robbery about 10 minutes later at the Shell on Richmond's far-east side.

The vehicle theft was reported at 5:09 a.m. from the Shell and McDonald's at 2320 Chester Blvd.

An aqua 2010 Toyota Corolla was taken after keys had been left in the car. The vehicle was last seen headed westbound on I-70.

The suspect in the car theft is a white male about 5 feet 11 inches in his 30s. He was described as unshaven and wearing a dark hooded jacket and dirty jeans, Leverton said.

To report information on the incident, call RPD's non-emergency number at (765) 983-7247.
